Members of the National Association of Enterprise Employers (NAEE) have threatened to embark on a two week warning strike following Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Government's failure to release N200 billion grant they requested three years ago.
The association also issued a seven-day ultimatum to the CBN and Federal Government to release the fund, noting that, from December 21, it would ensure that even sachet water would not be sold in any part of the country.
National President of the Association, Dr. Solomon Akpan disclosed this yesterday while speaking to newsmen in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
He said the warning strike was being planned to shut down all businesses until the CBN explains its failure to respond to the application letters sent to it by the association.
Meanwhile, activities at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba have remained paralyzed following the industrial action embarked upon by the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD).
During our reporters visit to the hospital, it was observed that all activities, including admission of patients have been suspended, as all the clinics remained closed.
