The man by name High Chief Kehinde Kalejaye, he narrated the sad story as stated, "On the 11th of December 2018, his wife was rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital at about around 11:30, they met doctor Oladudoyin and his personnel, he was told by the doctor to go and purchase some medicines, drips water and some injection for them to place on her treatment."
"He further explains that at about 2:30 one of the nurse said the wife must be admitted, but unfortunately there were no available beds, the man told them to provide ambulance and some staff to drive the patient (his wife) to the hospital where he is being directed to, but the response was that they do not have any ambulance or personnel to carry her to the referred hospital, the man tried talking them to provide hospital vehicle since it's very late in the early hours of the morning around 2am, with the present state of security in the country."
Chief Kehinde narrated that upon the little argument, the next thing the hospital did was to remove the oxygen and drips that is being administered to his wife. The lady was taken to a smaller hospital where eventually they also said there were no beds to admit her, the long and short of this sad story is that the lady passed away due to poor medical facilities in the country.
Chief Kehinde has called on all well meaning Nigeria to take this up, while calling on the Human Right Lawyer Falana (SAN) to look into this issue and take it up, as LASUTH referring them to smaller hospital Federal Medical Centre.
He lamented that if the hospital could have administered the medicines he bought to his wife, she wouldn't have died instead of them saying there is no bed which led to the passing away of his wife Mrs. Omolara Kalejaye, May her soul rest in peace.
