Chelsea Trash Arsenal To Lift The Europa League Trophy For 2019 In Baku

Europa League Champions -- Chelsea Fc
Chelsea FC demolished it's fellow English Premier League rivals to win the Europa League final Wednesday, beating Arsenal 4-1 amid a strange atmosphere in the Baku Olympic Stadium.

The Gunners started very well, as they move the ball around within the first quarter in the first 45 minutes, Chelsea FC stood it's ground and came in stronger in the second half with three goals in quick succession.

Olivier Giroud, ex-Arsenal forward, who made 253 appearances during his six years at the Emirates, broke the goalless deadlock with a wonderful header in the 49th minute before Pedro doubled Chelsea's lead as a result of continuous pressure from Chelsea afterward.

The victory by Chelsea end Arsenal's hopes of Champions League football next season, and the goal from Olivier Giroud gave a boost.

With Arsenal unraveling, Eden Hazard was on hand to add a third, dispatching an expert penalty after Giroud was fouled in the box.

Arsenal's Alex Iwobi did produce a moment of inspiration upon coming in as substitute, smashing a shot into the top corner, but it proved little more than a consolation after Hazard added a fourth following a sweeping counter-attack by Chelsea.

The victory, gave Chelsea FC the trophy as they wore the crown as Champions of the 2018/2019 season of Europa League Competition.

Nigerians In Malaysia Weep Due To Unlawful Detention, Police Extortion's, Allege Neglect By It's High Commission

Kingsley Nwankwo - President NIDO Malaysia
Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation in Malaysia raised their voice to strongly condemned the alleged killing, extortion and harassment of Nigerians studying and living in Malaysia by police.

Speaking to newsmen, the organisation stated that there has been continuous raid and molestation of Nigerians in Malaysia by police is unacceptable and it has become a thing of daily basis by some of the security agencies in the country.

On Thursday 30th 2019, a statement was issued and signed in Abuja the Nigeria's capital by the President of Nigerians in Diaspora Malaysia (NIDOMY), Comrade Kingsley Nwankwo. The organisation criticized it's High Commission in the country for not acting on behalf of its citizens and not living up to expectations according to its mandate.

The organisation unfolds its worries due to the recent reports of illegal detention of Nigerians abroad. Following the release of a Nigerian student, Zainab Habibu, who was detained in Saudi Arabia on suspicion of drug trafficking, many Nigerians had criticized the Federal Government for being selective in its efforts to address such cases and not doing enough to address incessant human rights abuses of Nigerians abroad.

Comrade Kingsley continued by saying the Nigerian High Commission in Malaysia had promised to intervene in the case of one Nigerian, identified as Alowonle Oluwajuwon Gilbert, held for murder at the Sepang Court Selangor, Malaysia.

He said to his surprise, the Nigeria High Commission didn't intervene in Gilbert's case while noting that no attorney was around to stand for Gilbert which means that his fate lies at the mercy of the judge.

According to him, many Nigerian students are in various detention centers after being arrested for offenses they know nothing about.

"As we speak, the young man (Alowonle) is on a crossroad of death sentence or life imprisonment, we have so many of similar and pending cases in Malaysia," Nwankwo stated.

The statement partly read, "The way Malaysian police officers are killing, extorting, assaulting, intimidating and harassing Nigerians daily is surprising, shocking and unbelievable, it makes a mockery of us as the giant of Africa.

"It is quite unfortunate and worrisome that the consular staff of the Nigeria High Commission in Malaysia, who are supposed to protect and defend Nigerians, had recently connived with the Malaysians to unlawfully detain Alowonle Oluwajuwon Gilbert, who was alleged of killing a Malaysian nurse named Siti Kharina between 12:41am on Monday 9 and 2:30pm on 15th of May 2019 at a unit Third Avenue Condominium, Cyberjaya Malaysia."

The organisation, hereby, call on President Muhammadu Buhari to address the issue in time and intervene in Alowonle's case.

The organisation added, "We hereby emphatically kick against the action in its entirety and call on the Federal Government and President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the High Commissioner and the staff of the Nigeria High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

"This very act by the Malaysia government and police is one too many, it is gradually demonstrating its penchant for impunity, racism, disregard for the rule of law and professionalism.

"We hereby appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari, well-meaning Nigerians, groups and individuals to save our soul and reject this human rights abuse in order to save Nigerians living and schooling in Malaysia.

BREAKING - Justice Zainab Step Down From Presidential Election Petition Tribunal

Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa
The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, on Wednesday, withdrew as a member of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

It was due to allegations of likelihood of bias leveled against her by the People's Democratic Party (PDP), and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Meanwhile, the five man panel of the tribunal, in a unanimous ruling dismissed the application, Zainab said she was withdrawing for "personal reasons."

Justice Olabisi Ige, who read the lead ruling of the panel, held that the relationship between Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa and her husband, Adamu Bulkachuwa, who is a Senator-elect, and her son Aliyu Abubakar, a governorship aspirant, both on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was not weighty enough to infer that she would be biased in her handling of the proceedings of the panel.

Justice Ige also ruled that no inference of likelihood of bias could be inferred from the speech delivered by Justice Zainab at the inaugural sitting of the tribunal on May 8 that she had pre-judged the petitioners petition.

All members of the panel, including Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, agreed with the lead ruling.

Despite that, Justice Bulkachuwa said, "I am recusing myself from the panel for personal reasons."

She also expressed joy that the matter had been settled "based on facts and law" so that "another female judge will no longer have to face what I have faced."

She said a new presiding Justice would be appointed for the panel, but that the four remaining members of the panel would continue with the hearing of the preliminary applications pending the appointment of the new head of the panel.

A Nanny Has Being Sentenced To 15years Imprison For Force Feeding 8months Old Baby

This incident occurred in Maryland USA, a nanny has been convicted for forcefully feeding 8-months old baby girl two bottles and killing her, she is set to spend the next 15-years behind bars.

The nanny by name Oluremi Adeleye Oyindasola, 73-years old, was a nanny at a couple's home in Prince George's County when one 8-months old Enita Salubi died on October 26th, 2016.

Adeleye was asleep on a cough inside the house when the baby, who was in a walker, began crying and woke the nanny, according to police. Police said a surveillance video camera shows the nanny tried to feed the baby, but without success. Adeleye, then pulled the baby from her walker, removed the nipple from a bottle and forcefully fed her, police said.

Adeleye poured ''eight ounces of milk down the child's throat in less than 30 seconds, essentially drowning her,'' the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office said in a statement.

On Friday, Adeleye was sentenced to 40-years in prison with all but 15-years suspended.

The baby appeared to squirm and resist while being fed the first bottle, and the Adeleye forced the contents of a second bottle into her mouth, as shown in documents.

After the baby became unresponsive, Adeleye called the baby's father, who dialed 911 as he raced home. Enita Salubi was rushed to a hospital, where she died.

Clifton Wanzer, a neighbor, said he saw the little girl's father carry her to an ambulance. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Adeleye was found guilty of second degree murder, first-degree child abuse and second degree child abuse in February.

Adeleye broke down into tears in court as she spoke through an interpreter, saying, "It was a mistake, I did not want to kill that child."

The presiding judge Karen Mason said while she did not believe Adeleye was an "evil-intention baby slayer," Adeleye knew or should have known her actions could result in the death of the child.

Speaking on the incident, Susan Jeremy, a child expert based in Washington said forced feeding is a widespread childcare practice in Yoruba culture. Adeleye is a Yoruba woman. The practice is learnt by females through socialization process, and practiced as an expected role of a responsible mother.

The desire to feed children forces women to engage in forced feeding practice. Just like the judge said Adeleye did not intend to kill the baby. She added that it was unfortunate the baby died from the incident.

According to her, I did not expect the sentencing. I thought the Embassy of Nigeria should have also added their voice and try to get a light sentencing for her.
