President Buhari Officially Signed June 12 Bill Into Law As Democracy Day

The Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has officially signed a bill on June 12 as the Democracy Day into law.

The President signing of the 2019 Appropriation Bill into law at the State House, Abuja Nigeria. President Buhari signed the bill 48 hours to what will become the first Democracy Day on June in the country's history.

The Act states that June 12 now replaces May 29 which was introduced in 1999 as the official Democracy Day. The date will also be recognized as national public holiday by the Federal Government from now onward.
