BREAKING!!! DSS Directs the 2023 Presidential Candidate's Detention
Omoyele Sowore must be arrested right away upon his return to Nigeria, under a directive from the Department of State Services (DSS).
Sowore disclosed a leaked memo that included this information on Thursday afternoon. In the general elections of 2019 and 2023, Sowore ran for the office of president.
Adeola D. Ali, a DSS official, wrote the memo on behalf of Adeola Ajayi, the recently appointed Director General of the DSS. It mentioned Sowore's participation in the most recent 10-day #EndBadGovernance protests.
Security services retaliated against the protesters, who demanded broad reforms and an end to mismanagement.
The recently disclosed document validated the directive and provided more information regarding the extent of monitoring utilized by the Nigerian secret police.
The document, titled "DSE: 94/6203 X WATCHLIST ACTION," contained instructions for airport security as well as a description of the detention strategy for Sowore.
The statement read, "WLA 'B' (Report arrival and destination by telephone immediately) has been upgraded to WLA 'F' (Detain traveller and escort with baggage to NHSS) against Omoyele Sowore, an activist and the founder of the online news agency Sahara Reporters Inc."
In the DSS memo, it was clearly stated that Sowore would be arrested right away and that his luggage would be seized when he got to Nigeria.
The human rights advocate responded by writing on Twitter, saying, "In the interim, the lawless @OfficialDSSNG has increased my position and name on their "watchlist" for arrest as soon as one arrives in Nigeria.
It is crucial to understand that Nigeria has to be saved and that its people need to be freed, both of which will require a great deal of work. I plan to get back home very soon, I promise."
Nothing can stop the new #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign, which is set for October 1, 2024, according to Sowore.
