The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has send back four hundred Nigerians, 90 females while there are 310 males.
Nigeria Television Authority stated, the deportees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
They were received by the office of the National Security Adviser alongside the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other stakeholders.
On Friday, it was reported that a total of 103 Nigerians deported from the Republic of Turkiye, were received by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other stakeholders.
The deportees who arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday at 7:00 pm through the pilgrims wing of the airport were received by Federal Government officials led by NEMA personnel.
Earlier in July, Nigeria repatriated 190 Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates UAE.
According to a statement signed by NEMA’s North Central Zonal Director, Bashir Idris Garga, the returnees have been profiled and documented by government agencies.
“The returnees were profiled and documented by the relevant agencies and sensitised to behave with decorum and responsibility on their return to Nigeria. The Federal Government urges all Nigerians, wherever they may be, to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country,” said NEMA.
The Federal Government of Nigeria then called for calm over the deportation.
