2027 ELECTION S: I’ve no Problem With Deputising Peter Obi, - Kwankwaso

Ahead of the 2027 general election, Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) during the 2023 elections, has indicated his readiness to serve as deputy to Peter Obi, the leader of the Labour Party. In a widely circulated video on the X microblogging platform, Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, articulated his position in Hausa, stating his willingness to take on the deputy role “if specific conditions are fulfilled.” Kwankwaso asserted that he holds a more significant political stature than Obi. He emphasized that both he and Peter Obi are open to engaging in constructive discussions to forge an agreement in preparation for the 2027 elections. He remarked, “I possess a greater political standing than Peter Obi; I consider myself his elder brother, I hold a PhD, and my performance as governor of my state surpassed his. I have no objections to serving as Peter Obi's deputy, contingent upon certain conditions being satisfied. “We are prepared to enter into discussions, provided that a foundation of trust is established.”
