According to Deji Adeyanju, Atiku, Kwankwaso, and Obi Ought to Reconsider Running Against Tinubu in the 2027 Election.
Deji Adeyanju, a prominent human rights lawyer and activist, has issued a warning to former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi regarding their aspirations for the presidency in 2027.
He urged them to reconsider their ambitions, asserting that even a united front would not be sufficient to overcome President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, Adeyanju remarked, “It would be more prudent for Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso to invest their resources in betting on BetNaija rather than contesting against Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).”
He expressed skepticism about their prospects within Nigeria's electoral framework, emphasizing, “Even if they were to unite at this moment, it would ultimately be futile. Engaging in elections in a country where results on the IREV platform are manipulated is a waste of time. Edo is a case in point.”
Additionally, he stated, “I find it increasingly frustrating to consider wasting my vote. Tinubu is merely beginning his tenure. The opposition's best opportunity to challenge the APC was during the last election, provided they had united.”
He concluded by asserting, “Regardless of any coalition formed now, Tinubu and the INEC are unlikely to lose an election that Tinubu oversees.”
