Despite Efforts by Significant Beneficiaries to Disorganize the Party, the Labour Party Insists on Reorganizing the Party.

The Labour Party has advocated for a comprehensive reorganization to prevent potential harm to the Party from individuals who have significantly benefited from it. This assertion was made in a resolution that emerged from the National Working Committee meeting convened on 15 November 2024 at its National Headquarters, as reported by Trustbase news. The resolution indicates that the NWC of the Labour Party has called for this complete reorganization after reviewing the pertinent report. The National Leadership expressed concern regarding the actions of certain key beneficiaries who appear to be undermining the Party and seeking alternative affiliations. Hon. Ceekay Igara, the National Vice Chairman for the Southeast, emphasized that the current challenges facing the Party are merely temporary setbacks. He urged loyal Party members to remain steadfast in their commitment to the Party's ideologies and principles, characterizing the Party's current situation as a period of trial. Additionally, the NWC reaffirmed its commitment to assist the Abia State chapter in overcoming its political challenges. They collectively agreed to extend an opportunity for forgiveness to members who demonstrate genuine remorse for their past actions and are willing to pursue a path of reconciliation. The NWC further recognized Abia State as a vital asset to the Party, being the only state to secure a governorship seat for the Party in the nation. However, the committee is resolute in its determination to safeguard the Party from those who have exploited it, as evidenced by recent detrimental behaviors observed from local to national levels. These actions have been perpetrated by certain individuals who, despite having benefited from the Party's generosity, are now attempting to act as agents of destruction against it. The delegation from the Abia LP, led by the Acting State Chairman, Hon. Prince G.O. Ndubueze, was received by the NWC, where they addressed concerns regarding the impersonation and intimidation of legitimate party members and executives. The recent reports concerning the Party's local government elections conducted throughout the federation were reviewed, leading to the formulation of decisions. In response, the National Chairman of the Party, Bar Julius Abure, assured the members of the NWC's commitment to rectifying any perceived injustices against the party. Furthermore, the National Chairman encouraged the Party to consistently advocate for peace, emphasizing that the party is inherently peace-loving and always prepared to foster harmony. Extensive discussions were held regarding issues of anti-party activities among members, resulting in well-considered decisions. The NWC subsequently passed a unanimous vote of confidence in the leadership of National Chairman Julius Abure, recognizing his exceptional leadership qualities.
