Sen. Kelvin Chukwu is Suspended by the Enugu Labour Party on Charges of Anti-Party Activities.

The Labour Party (LP) has announced the suspension of Senator Kevin Chukwu, the current representative for the Enugu East Senatorial Zone, from its membership. According to news reports, the suspension was enacted by the executives of his Amuri ward due to alleged insubordination and activities deemed detrimental to the party. This information was conveyed in a letter signed by the chairman of the Amuri ward, which was directed to the Chairman of the Labour Party in Enugu State, via the Local Government Chairman. The letter, which was made available to the press on Sunday, includes the following excerpt: “Distinguished Senator Kelvin Chukwu, “Notice of Your Suspension from the Labour Party “We, the members of the Executive Council of the Labour Party, Amurri Ward, Nkanu West LGA, hereby formally inform you, Distinguished Senator Kelvin Chukwu, of your suspension from the Labour Party for a duration of 90 days, commencing from the date of this notification or the date you receive this notice. “This decision has been reached due to your acts of insubordination towards the party leadership, your participation in activities contrary to the party’s interests, and your failure to comply with the party’s principles. “You have not taken advantage of the opportunity to present your case, despite multiple requests for you to do so. “Please be assured that the constitutional provisions of the party are available to you should you choose to invoke them following your suspension. The letter was signed by Comrade Chika Okoh, on behalf of the Executive Council of the Labour Party, Amurri Ward. In related news, attempts to reach Enugu State LP Chairman Bar Cashmere Agbo for confirmation of this report were unsuccessful, as calls and messages went unanswered.
