The Senate Receives INEC REC Nominees from President Tinubu.

President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the names of three candidates for the roles of Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) to the Senate for their approval. This communication was made during the Senate's plenary session on Tuesday, where Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the President's letter. The nominations have been assigned to the Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for further examination. The committee is responsible for conducting the necessary evaluations and submitting its findings in a timely manner. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the operational framework of the country's electoral commission, ensuring its preparedness for upcoming elections. Additionally, the President has made a significant request for Senate approval of a new external loan amounting to N1.77 trillion to meet urgent economic and developmental requirements. The Senate is anticipated to reach a decision regarding the nominees in the near future.
