Governor Adeleke Will Travel to London to Attend the Commonwealth Trade & Investment Forum and the Investment Summit.
● To Visit British Museum for Talks on Creative Sector Collaboration
● Preaches Peaceful Coexistence Among Traditional Rulers
By David Owei, Yenagoa.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is set to participate in a series of high-profile investment activities in London this week, which will include the esteemed Commonwealth Business Forum and other focused investment summits.
In a global environment where developed nations are actively pursuing new investment opportunities, Governor Adeleke will engage in strategic discussions with key stakeholders, including the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Nigeria, with the aim of attracting capital and partnerships to Osun’s priority sectors.
As part of his official agenda, the Governor will also visit the British Museum to identify potential collaboration opportunities in the creative and cultural sectors, aiming to further promote and export Osun’s rich heritage, arts, and creative talents.
Throughout his various engagements, the Governor is anticipated to highlight the improved investment climate in Osun State, focusing on:
• Reduction in infrastructure deficits
• Harmonization of the tax system
• Enhanced security for lives and property
• 45-day window for the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy for business-related land use
Since November 2022, Osun State has welcomed over 100 prospective investors, with more than half of these interests evolving into active initiatives within significant economic sectors.
In this context, Governor Adeleke has urged traditional leaders throughout the state to promote peace and avoid actions that could incite conflict or public disputes.
“Our royal leaders have long been the guardians of peace and unity in their communities. They embody harmony and act as mediators at the grassroots level,” stated Governor Adeleke.
“In times of governance challenges, we frequently seek the counsel and intervention of our royal leaders. Recently, the State Council of Traditional Rulers convened with me to discuss important state issues. This council plays a crucial role, and we must prevent internal disagreements from becoming public spectacles.”
“We cannot permit a scenario where royal leaders are seen in open conflict with one another. If left unaddressed, such behavior could escalate communal tensions. I implore our esteemed monarchs to be cautious with their public statements to ensure unity and peaceful coexistence throughout the state.”
